300.001 – 500.000 – On the first 300.000 – 300.001 to 500.000 (transfer deed and loan contract) (note 1) stamp duty of 0.5% on the value of services / loans. However, stamp duty may be higher than 0.1% for the following instruments: the late stamp penalty varies depending on the length of the delay period. The maximum penalty is RM100 or 20% of the default tax, whichever is greater. Exemption from stamp tax on instruments executed by a life-saving contractor or developer, i.e. a contractor or developer designated or approved by the Minister of Housing and Local Government to carry out renovation work on an abandoned project. Instruments are loan agreements and transfer instruments approved by the approved financier for the purpose of transferring resuscitated housing from the abandoned project.
